Media Sandbox 2009 closes this Friday
Media Sandbox is a commissioning scheme to support South West companies /
organisations to research emerging possibilities in digital media. In 2009,
awards will be made to six research projects exploring innovative
multi-platform content.
The deadline for applications to this years scheme is this Friday, 9th
January 2009.
Media Sandbox offers a safe space¹ for collaboration between creative
talent, technology companies and content commissioners. It is an entirely
unique opportunity for creatives from the South West of England to
collaboratively create radical new products and processes pushing forward
understanding and potential usage of interactive digital media.
Participation in Media Sandbox offers:
Research support:
- £9,000 commission
- Opportunity to focus intensively on development of new idea
- Early access to emerging technologies
Development support:
- Peer community of potential collaborators for current and future projects
- Structured innovation lab¹ process featuring research blogs and regular
catch up, showcase and feedback events
- A panel of leading industry advisers who will take a mentoring role in the
development of ideas and potential routes to market

Interviews with shortlisted teams: w/c 19 January 2009
2009 Media Sandbox participants announced: 26 January 2009
Participants will develop their projects between February and May 2009.
